The Supernatural Worldview: Examining Paranormal, PSI, and The Apocalyptic ~ MY REVIEW

If "paranormal" really is "the new normal," as most leading scholars agree, then Christians face a dilemma in searching for the appropriate level of skepticism amid surprising evidences that support a Supernatural Wordlview.  While culture abounds with everything from ghosts to space aliens and all sorts of fantastic nonsense, foundational Christian tenets such as the Resurrection and fulfilled prophecy can be counted among the most incredible supernatural phenomena of all.

Presenting Christian apologetics from an apocalyptic perspective, The Supernatural Worldview offers a close and careful look at supernatural and paranormal phenomena through the lens of biblical scholarship.  Surveys of contemporary and ancient research reveal that, surprisingly, even some of the usual evangelical answers to questions raised concerning these topics are found wanting:  "In the one area where the church is supposed to have specialized mastery," observes author Cris Putnam, "it is failing to be salt and light.  Through either ignorance, incredulity, or both, we're not providing convincing answers when it comes to paranormal phenomena."

The Supernatural Worldview encourages cautiousness among believers and sounds an ominous trumpet in light of prophetic predictions given more than eighty years ago by Chinese Christian and visionary author Watchman Nee.

MY REVIEW

Included in this blog is an interview by Steve Quayle with Cris Putnam.  They talk about his book The Supernatural Worldview and the new paradigm shift that is taking place across the globe.

I found Cris's book The Supernatural Worldview: Examining Paranormal, PSI, and The Apocalyptic very interesting and on a subject that I have been curious about a long time.

Television has been conditioning the populace with space, aliens, science, and a vast array of other supernatural subjects.  This is all to get you comfortable with seeing and in some cases experiencing the company of ghosts, witches, and spirits.

During Biblical times it was common for someone to hold seances or ask for advice from a ghost or spirit.  I submit the story of King Saul consulting a witch in Endor to speak with the ghost/spirit of Samuel, who was a prophet of God (1 Samuel 28).

Ghosts are real as well as spirits.  This is a medium that should not be dabbled with.  The Bible specifically prohibits from trying to talk, bring back, or consult with spirits from the dead (see Deuteronomy 18).

Cris Putnam sheds light on the supernatural as well as the natural, paranormal, near death experiences, telepathy, dreams, apparitions, hauntings, poltergeists, mediums, ghosts, satan, demons, and zombie apocalypse.  This is a book worth reading.  CAUTION: once you start, you can't put it down.
